Dr. Kirt Yant

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Kirt Yant is the owner and veterinarian at Salt & Light Veterinary Clinic. He and his wife, Betsy, founded the practice with a simple mission: to provide high-quality, compassionate veterinary care while treating every client with kindness, honesty, and respect.

Dr. Yant earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine after completing his bachelor’s degree at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, and his master’s degree at the University of Hawaiʻi. Since becoming a veterinarian, he has remained committed to providing thoughtful, compassionate care while continually expanding his knowledge to offer the highest quality medicine to his patients.

Known for his calm demeanor and thorough approach, Dr. Yant enjoys caring for pets through every stage of life, from welcoming new puppies and kittens to helping families navigate complex medical conditions.

Dr. Yant strives to honor God through his work each day. Salt & Light Veterinary Clinic takes its name from Matthew 5:13-16 in the Bible, where Jesus calls His followers to be “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world.” Those verses serve as the foundation of the clinic’s mission: to care for every pet with excellence while serving every person with kindness, compassion, and integrity. Every client is welcomed and respected, regardless of their beliefs, and Dr. Yant considers it a privilege to love and serve the community through veterinary medicine.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Yant enjoys spending time with his wife, Betsy, and their three children. When he’s not caring for patients, you’ll usually find him working outdoors, tackling projects around their property, or exploring the countryside with his family. He also enjoys spending time with their four dogs and two cats, making memories together wherever life takes them.
